Hustle UpTM. training equipment (collars and leashes) and discuss how to size the collars properly.

The only length of leash used by anyone associated with BPEC is 6 feet long. The leashes come in two different widths, 1” for larger dogs or 3⁄4” small dogs.

The Hustle Up collars come in five different sizes: toy, x-small, small, medium and large. They are made of nylon with a ribbon webbing on top, securely fastened with polyester stitching.

The leashes and collars are made and assembled in Canada, except for the clasp being made in the US and the chain being made in Germany (Herm Sprenger). The leashes are reinforced by the handle and clasp with a box stitch – point out to students.

1” leashes have a clasp with 600 psi, 3⁄4” leashes and the 6legs to Fitness TM leashes have a clasp with 300 psi.

  • Method of training:

The training is based on establishing oneself as the alpha in the “pack”. Dogs are pack animals and look for leadership, if leadership is not provided they take on the alpha role without the proper skills required to lead. This is when you start to see the dog act out in ways such as chewing, pulling on the leash, nipping or showing signs of separation anxiety. Through the use of body language, little verbal communication and no treats, the Brad Pattison Certified Trainer Educator Course is set apart from any other dog trainer course in the industry.

  • What is Alpha?

    • Leader, boss, in charge of pack

    • Think deeper; what does an ‘alpha’ provide up & above what

      every other dog owner provides?

    • Provides safety, education, medical care, food, shelter, water,

      rules, boundaries, trust, respect

    • Why dogs are not allowed on the couch – territorial aggression -

      bite

  • What is Alpha? – Ask your self this question and find a visual that will stay with you. If you stay in an Alpha position for your own dog. You will have done your dog a favour. Dogs are not our emotional sherpas. We people are the ones to carry our own emotional baggage, not the dog!
